U.S. House passes health care bill
By Gaveliers, The Gavel Media Team, on November 7, 2009 11:15 PMThe U.S. House of Representatives has passed a health care bill. The final results are 220 yeas to 215 nays, with one Republican, Joseph Cao (R-LA), voting in favor of the bill. 39 Democrats voted against the bill.
The bill passed with an amendment sponsored by Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), banning the use of federal affordability credits for insurance plans that include abortion.
