The stage is set, the teams are ready, and the only thing let for me to do is yell in an obnoxiously loud voice: ARE YOU READY FOR SHOWDOWNNNN? No? We'll change that! Welcome to the first installation of Gavel Media's ALC Showdown team profile series. We got in touch with members of each dance team to bring you insider information before the big competition.
Catch up on your facts and find out who each team thinks is their biggest competitor in the race for first place! We're bringing you three team profiles a day for the coming week leading up to the biggest dance competition of the year at Boston College. Be an informed fan, and most importantly come out to support your fellow Eagles at ALC Showdown, Saturday night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or through the box office at Robsham Theater.

Fuego del Corazón
Number of dancers on the team: 21 (20 performing in Showdown, 1 is studying abroad in Madrid, Spain)
Style of Dance: We dance to Latin genres including Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-cha-cha, Tango and more.
Strengths: Our teammates are amazing people! We pride ourselves on fostering a family atmosphere within the team and have the best time with each other. There is not one person on the team I can't count on if I ever need anything.
What do you bring to Showdown that the other teams don't: All of our routines are done with partners. We try to stick to the traditional Latin roots that these genres of music have given us, but also put a modern twist to our set by incorporating hip-hop.
Who do you think is your biggest competition: We know how hard everyone has been working this semester to prepare for Showdown, so we view everyone as competition and are excited to see what the other teams have planned for this year.
A fun surprise we can expect from your performance: Acting has never been something that we incorporate too much of into our sets, but we will definitely get the crowd laughing with what we have planned.
Is this your year? Are you going all the way?: We have worked our team extremely hard this year and have made an effort to go above and beyond making our choreography even harder than it has been in the past. We plan on delivering this year and hope for the best for our teammates.

A fun surprise we can expect from your performance: I mean, if I were to tell you, then I would have to kill you. Lol just kidding. A surprise is a surprise. It would be no fun to ruin it for you. You'll see on Saturday.
Is this your year? Are you going all the way?: We feel very strongly that we will take it this year. We are hungry for it and working the best that we can to make this dream a reality.
