Welcome to the fourth and final installment of Gavel Media’s ALC Showdown team profile series. The show is only ONE DAY AWAY. ARE YOU READY? Not yet! Read the previous profiles (Sexual Chocolate, F.I.S.T.S, & Fuego, Synergy, UPRising, & Masti, and BCID, Dance Organization, & PATU), and the following ones on AeroK and Phaymus to prep yourself for the big show! We got in touch with members of each competing dance team to give you insider information before the big competition.
Be an informed fan and, most importantly, come out to support your fellow Eagles at ALC Showdown, TOMORROW night at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online or through the box office at Robsham Theater.

Number of dancers on the team: 15
Style of Dance: Hip-Hop
Strengths: Our dancers come from various dance backgrounds, and we incorporate these styles into our pieces. For instance, not only do we do hip-hop, but we also add in elements of tutting, housing, liquiding, waacking, etc.
What do you bring to Showdown that the other teams don't: Since we are in the cultural category, we will be adding a Korean flare to our dance performance, incorporating various cultural props, dances, and motifs. Our hip-hop style juxtaposed against a Korean backdrop is definitely unique.
Who do you think is your biggest competition: Everyone in our division. We don't underestimate any opponent.
A fun surprise we can expect from your performance: If we told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?
Is this your year? Are you going all the way? We'll be going all out and leaving it all on the dance floor. We have a very strong set this year, and a group of extremely talented dancers, but we're not here to brag. We're here to dance.

Phaymus

Style of Dance: We are a hip-hop based dance company that incorporates jazz, modern, tap, and cultural dance.
Strengths: Phaymus is know for our high energy performances.
What do you bring to Showdown that the other teams don't: We have incorporated several different dance styles into our Showdown routine this year. The versatility of all our dancers makes us stand out from other teams.
Who do you think is your biggest competition: We consider all of the teams participating in Showdown to be competition. Each team brings something unique and all have their strengths.
A fun surprise we can expect from your performance: We hope to provide the audience with some fun entertainment that will make you laugh.
Is this your year? Are you going all the way?: Of course this is our year! We’ve been working hard and are excited to see the entire show come together.
