It was cold and a few snowflakes fluttered their way down to the freshly turned dirt, but volunteers young and old worked cheerfully from 1pm to 5pm on Friday, November 8th to plant over 3,500 daffodil bulbs on Brighton Campus along the Boston Marathon route.

Connell School of Nursing faculty assistant Michele Hubley, Dean Susan Gennaro, and Associate Dean Anne Severo organized the event to line the marathon route with daffodils, a symbol of rebirth and strength for both runners and bystanders for marathons to come.

The yellow flowers will bloom next spring and each spring after, reminding those passing by of just how strong the Boston community is.
