The BC Student's Easter Basket

The Easter holidays are always a welcome and much needed break before the final weeks of school are upon us and finals have sucked all of the happiness out of the semester. This extra long weekend is a time to reflect, relax and (hopefully) get Easter presents. The average Boston College student’s dream Easter basket likely includes these tangible and intangible gifts:

1. More Beautiful Days

Winter lasted longer than necessary this year, and the cold and rain has continued to punish us well into April. The few nice days we have had this year didn’t last long, and we could all use a few more days to relax in the sun and warmth.

2. Our Dream Job or Internship

Along with the stress of balancing schoolwork and a social life, most BC students devote a large majority of their time to finding an internship or job. Finding the ideal position at the best company is a difficult and stressful task, and every BC student would benefit from a perfectly gift-wrapped position.

3. A Shower

When was the last time you showered? Yesterday? Last week? When was the last time you showered in a non-communal or dirty off-campus bathroom? Yeah. THOUGHT SO.

5. Time

The school year is winding down, and for many seniors this sadly marks the end of college and the beginning of a career. For most of us, however, this is just the end of another year and the beginning of another summer that gets us far too close to real life and much too far from the ease and safety of school.

6. A Home Cooked Meal

Boston College is one of few schools that serve decent food in the dining halls, but free food cooked by Mom or Dad is always welcome. Nothing says Happy Easter like fresh food that doesn’t require a BC ID.

7. Free Laundry Machines

Or, even better, our mom to actually DO our laundry for us.

8. Couch Time

I can’t remember the last time I sprawled out on my couch and watched SpongeBob like a mature 21-year-old, so this break is exactly the time to do that.

9. A Mistake Eraser

We cannot erase or change the past, but sometimes it would be really nice to have the opportunity to erase at least some of our mistakes. Like that one final you didn’t wake up for. Lol.

10. My Easter Basket

Everybody who’s anybody wants my Easter basket: an ill-fitting bathing suit, awkward underwear, food I’m allergic to and like way too many Peeps. Yah. Happy Easter people, be jealous.
