Ship up to Robsham for BCID's 'inTENsity' Show This Weekend

Looking for a respite from midterms, papers, and projects? Or possibly a stunning display of Irish dance to gear up for the upcoming St. Patrick's Day celebrations? Look no further than Robsham Theater, where the Boston College Irish Dance club (BCID) will be performing in their 2017 Spring showcase, 'inTENsity.'

Since its establishment in 2007, BCID has strived to epitomize BC's Irish roots through Irish dance.

"InTENsity is our spring showcase that is specifically celebrating 10 years of the club on campus," BCID publicist Amanda Williams, MCAS '17, explained, "People should expect us to dance to both traditional songs and songs they would hear on the radio like 'Sax,' 'Light It Up', and 'All Night' by Chance."

"We also tried to incorporate more intense and eye-catching moves into our group dances after our big Showdown win. It will definitely be a great time for everyone in the audience, and we're confident that we'll bring an energy and rhythm to the Robsham stage unlike any other dance team," Williams said.

Occurring every spring, the Showdown is a highly attended event where the best dance teams of BC compete against each other to win the title of Showdown champion.

Last year, BCID enjoyed a spectacular victory at Showdown.

"We were honored to win Showdown last year, and it has definitely motivated us to work even harder for this year's show," Williams said, "We were so excited to win and hope that the hard work pays off again in Showdown this year."

Although the audio tracks in some videos have been muted for copyright purposes, you can get a glimpse of BCID's Showdown performance last year and check out other BCID-related videos on their YouTube page.

As the 10th anniversary celebration of BCID, 'inTENsity' is sure to be a breathtaking performance that you don't want to miss. Tickets are $12 and can be found online.

BCID's 'inTENsity' show will be on 02/24 and 02/25 at 7 p.m. in Robsham Theater.
