BREAKING: Beer, Wine Sales Expanded to Conte Forum

The Boston College Athletics Department announced that BC will add beer and wine sales to Conte Forum starting Friday, Dec. 1, as part of a pilot program approved by the City of Boston.

The purchase of beer and wine will be available at hockey and basketball games at select concession stands on the concourse. The sale will begin at tomorrow night's hockey game against Boston University.

"We're pleased to offer this amenity to our fans," said athletic director Martin Jarmond. "We believe this opportunity will enhance our game-day experience, and is a natural extension to our successful pilot program this year in Alumni Stadium."

The expansion to Conte Forum follows after BC announced the addition of beer and wine sales to Alumni Stadium on Aug. 18, in time for football season.

Jarmond, who assumed his new position with the Eagles in June, has been the catalyst in expanding alcohol sales.

"One of my focuses when I took the job was to really engage with our fans in a way that we hadn’t before in hopes to improve the fan experience and the game-day experience,” said Jarmond in an article published by The Boston Globe in August.

The former associate athletic director at Ohio State has emphasized that expanding beer and wine sales will enhance the game-day fan experience.

Around the area, BC will join Boston University and UMass Lowell in selling beer and wine at both basketball and hockey games. Across the U.S., more than 40 schools sell alcohol at athletic events.
