BC Football Announces Extended Tailgating Hours

William V. Campbell Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond announced a number of changes to football game day on Tuesday, including extended tailgating hours.

On weekends, fans will now be able to start tailgating four hours before the game. If a game begins at 3 p.m. or earlier, fans can tailgate for an hour after the contest as well. The previously limit of three hours of tailgating time will remain the same for games held on weekdays.

In addition to providing a more enjoyable fan experience, Jarmond hopes this change will ease traffic flow on campus leading up to games and help fans get into the stadium in time for kickoff.

There will also be a new clear bag policy instituted for games held at Alumni Stadium. Fans will be allowed to bring in clear bags and backpacks that do not exceed the size of 12"x 12"x 6". This new policy is also designed to expedite the flow of fans into the stadium, cutting down on time spent getting through security at the gates.

Finally, donor based seating ticket holders can also gain access to a Priority Seating Fast Pass, allowing them to enter Alumni through Conte Forum, avoiding any lines at the other entry gates.

Jarmond thanked multiple local government officials, including Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, for their cooperation with the program and implementation of these changes for the 2019 season.
