In Memoriam: Saoirse Kennedy Hill, MCAS '20

Rising senior Saoirse Kennedy Hill, MCAS '20, died Thursday at her family's compound on Cape Cod.

Kennedy Hill was 22 years old. At Boston College, she was the vice president of the College Democrats and a Communication major.

In a statement posted on their Facebook page on Saturday, College Democrats of Boston College remembers Kennedy Hill as "a fierce advocate for women's rights, sexual assault survivors, and mental health awareness."

"CDBC will remember how she filled our lives with her warmth, kindness, and strength," reads the statement.

Emergency responders were sent to the Kennedy compound in Hyannisport, Massachusetts around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. She was then taken to Cape Cod Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

“Our hearts are shattered by the loss of our beloved Saoirse,” the Kennedy family said in a statement. “Her life was filled with hope, promise and love.”

Barnstable Police and the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office are still investigating the cause of death.

Kennedy Hill was the granddaughter of Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
