Selena Gomez Makes Her Stunning Return to Music

There’s no doubt that since Selena Gomez’s breakout role in “Wizards of Waverly Place” back in 2007, her popularity has only grown as she has evolved into the important singer and influencer she is today. While she hasn’t released an album since Revival in 2016, Gomez has teased us with popular singles such as “Bad Liar” and “Fetish,” leaving fans wanting more. Listeners were ecstatic this week with the release of two new tracks, “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look at Her Now.” Although the singles are very different from each other, both are receiving great reviews from fans.

“Lose You To Love Me” is a heart-wrenching ballad discussing the hardships of a difficult breakup; slower and more emotional than many of Gomez’s most recent songs, “Lose You To Love Me” is nostalgic of some of Selena’s older music like “The Heart Wants What It Wants.” On the other hand, “Look At Her Now” has a catchy, upbeat melody very different from the melancholy sound of “Lose You To Love Me.”

In days, both songs have reached the top of Spotify’s Top Hits. The growing popularity of the singles is not only due to Gomez’s creative, captivating melodies, but also because of the somewhat painful yet inspiring lyrics that provide insight into her past on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

Selena Gomez has always been all about positivity and love through her words, actions, and music. The messages emphasized in her new releases are no different, as they focus on empowering people everywhere who feel hopeless and lost.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Gomez opened up about the heavy, heartbreaking lyrics in her new singles. She shared that she was in a bad place when she wrote the songs over a year ago, but she now feels completely different.

In addition, Gomez disclosed that even though it took her a long time to heal from her past relationship, she is now smiling and moving on. She said she has reached a point where she can look back on these hard times in her life as something positive. In this regard, Gomez sends a great message to young adults everywhere that heartbreak hurts, but it does get better with time.

Despite the optimistic energy that Gomez attempted to put out with the release of her new tracks, the songs ignited drama within her extremely loyal fan base. After hearing the painful lyrics that fans believe to be about her relationship of Justin Bieber, many of her followers took to Twitter and Instagram to attack his now-wife Hailey Baldwin.

Gomez, however, started an Instagram live stream in which she pleaded for her fans to be kind, saying, “I do not stand for women tearing other women down, and I will never, ever be by that.”

As always, Gomez sends fantastic messages regarding mental health, kindness, and love through her two new singles. Not only is her music catchy and deep, but it also emphasizes the important message that a heart truly can heal after a messy break up given enough time. If you haven’t yet, give “Lose You To Love Me” and “Look At Her Now” a listen!
