The season is almost halfway over—check out how some of BC's best football alumni fared in this week's edition of Eagles in the NFL:
Matt Ryan - QB Atlanta Falcons - (BC 2003-2007):
Lions 23, Falcons 22: The Atlanta Falcons seemingly find new ways to lose each week as they spectacularly choked away another fourth quarter lead, largely due to Todd Gurley “accidentally” scoring a late touchdown. Matt Ryan had a good showing despite the loss. He threw for 338 yards and one touchdown on 31 completions in 42 attempts. His only turnover came on the ground as he lost one fumble. The disappointing Falcons now stand at 1-6 on the season.
Week 8 Matchup: Falcons vs. Panthers, Sunday 8:20 p.m.
AJ Dillon – RB Green Bay Packers – (BC 2017-2020):
Packers 35, Texans 20: AJ Dillon had a big opportunity to see more of the ball as the Packers' star running back Aaron Jones sat out. Unfortunately, second-string running back Jamaal Williams saw 19 carries and Dillon will have to continue to wait for his shot. He finished the day with five carries for 11 yards. His percentage of starting snaps of 30% was actually down from last week’s 47%. The Packers lead the NFC North with a 5-1 record.
Week 8 Matchup: Packers vs. Vikings, Sunday 1:00 p.m.
Harold Landry – OLB Tennessee Titans – (BC 2014-2017):
Steelers 27, Titans 24: The Titans' late comeback fell short as they lost their first game of the season in the “battle of the unbeatens." Landry continued his strong play so far in the first half of the season. He racked up three tackles, all solo and one of which was for loss, and had one quarterback hit. The Titans now sit at 5-1 on the year.
Week 8 Matchup: Titans vs. Bengals, Sunday 1:00 p.m.
John Johnson III - FS Los Angeles Rams - (BC 2013-2016):
Rams 24, Bears 10: John Johnson played a large part in the Rams' defense that put on a stifling performance Monday night. The Bears' offense struggled all night, as Nick Foles could not get anything going in the air and threw two interceptions. Johnson finished with five tackles, three of which were solo, and one pass defended. The Rams improved to 5-2 on the season.
Week 8 Matchup: Rams vs. Dolphins, Sunday 1:00 p.m.
Kevin Pierre-Louis – OLB Washington Football Team (BC 2010-2013):
Football Team 25, Cowboys 3: Kevin Pierre-Louis played a key role in the Washington defense’s dominating performance against Dallas. Starting 68% of Washington’s defensive snaps, Pierre-Louis totaled three total tackles, two of which were solo, and defended one pass. At 2-5, Washington somehow finds itself second place in the historically weak NFC East.
Week 8: Matchup: Football Team vs. Giants, Sunday 1:00 p.m.
