A Look Ahead to Marathon Monday and Festivities of the Weekend

This coming weekend is one of the most highly anticipated among BC students with activities of all sorts coming to the Heights. As a result, a clear idea of what is transpiring during this long weekend is necessary.

Of course, the highlight of the weekend is the marathon. On Mon. April 15, BC students will flock to Comm Ave. to socialize and watch the tenacious runners surmount the infamous Heartbreak Hill as they close in on the finish line.

However, the marathon is not the only festivity of the day. At 10:00 a.m., BC hosts American singer and rapper T-Pain in the Mod Lot. Attending students will get to enjoy classics like “Buy U A Drank” and “Up Down” as well as marvel at the comical outfits everyone will be wearing. Those not attending will have the chance to see the Red Sox play at 10:00 a.m. instead.

More events take place earlier in the week. No. 1 ranked BC men’s hockey plays Michigan in an NCAA semifinal matchup between two red-hot teams on Thurs., April 11.

If they win, the Eagles will move on to the finals at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, playing either No. 3 ranked Denver or No. 2 ranked Boston University. Before this year, there had never been a 1 vs 2 matchup between these two Boston teams. Now, if the two play in the finals, it will be the fifth time it has happened this year.

Also on Saturday is the ALC Showdown, the largest annual dance performance at BC. Students from different groups come together to create an epic performance at 7:00 p.m.
