This Sunday, one of America’s premier sporting events will take place in New Orleans: Super Bowl LIX. The Kansas City Chiefs (17-2) look to defend their crown against the Philadelphia Eagles (17-3) in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, where the Chiefs defeated the Eagles 38-35. Now, Kansas City is aiming to complete the first Super Bowl three-peat in NFL history.
Super Bowl LIX is expected to be an intense battle. The Chiefs will be led by Patrick Mahomes, the two-time league MVP and three-time Super Bowl MVP. Mahomes has thrown 26 touchdowns this season and hopes to add to that tally en route to a statement victory. Alongside him, running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt will provide additional offensive strength, making Kansas City the favorite heading into the game.
The Eagles, however, possess a strong offense of their own. Running back Saquon Barkley had a historic season, becoming just the ninth player in NFL history to rush for over 2,000 yards. His success was made possible by Philadelphia’s dominant offensive line, led by veteran lineman Lane Johnson. On defense, the Eagles’ top-ranked defense, led by standout defensive tackle Jalen Carter and linebacker Zack Baun, will look to contain Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense

Score: 31-21
The Chiefs will come out the gates strong scoring a touchdown on their first drive, but ultimately the Eagles’ No. 1 ranked defense led by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will limit the Chiefs to three scores as Jalen Hurts & Saquon run through them, leaving Saquon with 150+ yards and multiple touchdowns!
Christian:
Winner: Chiefs
MVP: Patrick Mahomes
Score: 29-26
Although I think the Eagles have a more complete roster, I am once again picking Kansas City to win the big game. In recent years, picking the team with the better quarterback seems to be a safe bet, and Patrick Mahomes is on a different level than everyone else. His supporting cast is once again strong and I expect the Chiefs to prevail in a nail-biting finish.
Cassidy:

MVP: Patrick Mahomes
Score: 32-28
The Chiefs will win because they have Patrick Mahomes—the GOAT (Greatest Quarterback of All Time). He plays big in the biggest games, does not make a lot of costly mistakes, and if he gets the ball last he delivers. Chiefs running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are solid and should combine for close to 100 yards. The Eagles have an edge in the running game with Saquon Barkley and QB Jalen Hurts, along with the No. 1 ranked defense, but it will not be enough. Chris Jones and the Chiefs’ defense will do just enough to contain the Eagles’ running game and win the turnover battle.

Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
MVP: Patrick Mahomes
Score: 31-28
Patrick Mahomes is inevitable. With this win, Steve Spagnuolo will go down as the greatest assistant in NFL history. Kansas City’s dominant pass rush will be a performance for the ages.
Most writers predict a Chiefs three-peat, but we can only guess until Sunday. The game will take place at 6:30 p.m. (EST) on Sunday and will hopefully be a matchup for the ages!
