Boston College’s Football Season is officially over after a 20-15 loss in the Pinstripe Bowl, the 2025-2026 season is fast approaching. The Eagles will miss a standout senior class and will look to pass the torch to a blend of newcomers, veterans, and incoming freshmen.
Many key players opted to stay on the team, declining the enticing options offered by the transfer portal:
Eagles wide receiver, redshirt junior, and starter Lewis Bond announced he is returning to The Heights next season. He has appeared in 31 games and totaled 123 for 1375 yards and 10 touchdowns.
George Rooks, Quintayvious Hutchins, Neto Okpala, Ty Clemons, Owen Stoudmire, and Kwan Williams will also return next season. Logan Taylor, Dwayne Allick, and Jude Bowry are returning. Right Tackle Ozzy Trapilo, right guard Jack Conley, and Drew Kendall are departing. Their likely replacements, Eryx Daugherty and Ryan Mickow will have big shoes to fill. Turbo Richard, Jordan McDonald, and Datrell Jones will be back. Alex Broome, who missed the season due to a torn ACL, is also expected to return.
Despite many essential players remaining on the team, some key pieces from last season have decided to declare for the draft:
The offensive and defensive lines are losing immensely valuable players. ACC Defensive Player of the Year Donovan Ezeiruaku, who led the nation in sacks, is unparalleled at defense and will surely be missed. Cam Horsley, a likely NFL draft pick, is irreplaceable. Kye Robichaux, an Eagles running back, declared for the NFL draft. Finishing the season with 744 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, he was often the Eagles’ answer to elite defenses such as No. 14 Southern Methodists.
As the Eagles shift their focus to next season, they clearly have some big shoes to fill, but there’s plenty of reason for optimism. Losing key players like Donovan Ezeiruaku, Cam Horsley, and Kye Robichaux will be tough. Still, with so many veterans sticking around and young talent ready to step up, Boston College has a solid foundation to build on. With a mix of experience, new faces, and the return of Alex Broome from injury, the Eagles will be ready to hit the ground running. The countdown to kickoff is officially on.
