Shifting from Summer to Autumn and from Home to BC: October Horoscope

Allison Jones / Gavel Media

October brings the first whole month of Boston College’s full campus atmosphere. The time has finally come to decorate the dorm in spooky DIYs, and sweater weather is upon us all!

The end of summer ushers in a new wave of excitement for the new school year. The end of Libra season, a prolific air sign, could suggest a particularly social period for BC students while also feeling confusing emotions about the pressure of maintaining last year’s friendships. Pluto’s retrograde will intensify these emotions for a tumultuous few days. Once mid-October hits and Scorpio season begins, these intense emotions shift inward for personal introspection, and secrets bubble out. The conclusion of the first month of school, no matter the zodiac season, will undoubtedly be a transformative experience for all involved!

Every season and planet affects each sign differently, so look for your sun sign in the upcoming paragraphs to find guidance and advice for the next couple of weeks. To find your sun sign, look for your birthday in the following dates! If you want to check your moon and rising signs, Snapchat provides both, which change periodically.

Take what you need from these predictions and leave what does not resonate with you!

♈Aries (March 21 through April 19)

After an incredible summer, you were prepared to hit the ground running at the beginning of the school year. Although that expectation may not have fully come into fruition, the upcoming season allows you to take on new ambitions you acquired over the summer. Your full moon on October 6th will push you to let go of any inhibitions you may have in achieving your goals.

♉Taurus (April 20 through May 20)

Great job on taking time for yourself over the summer. You protected your peace and plan to continue doing so throughout the school year. Be careful not to fall into old habits. Take risks and perhaps sit next to that new person in Eagles Nest when tables are scarce. You never know what could lead to making a new friend.

♊Gemini (May 21 through June 20)

Summer was a great time to rekindle old friendships that may have fallen to the wayside in the chaos of college. Hopefully, those friendships will carry through the school year. It can be challenging to balance home and school life, but even one FaceTime call a week will go a long way in maintaining a friendship you’ve had since middle school.

♋Cancer (June 21 through July 22)

You made some big decisions about your future in the past few weeks. You may want to hear that everything will be okay and that it is all going to plan, but you might face many challenges (big or small) in following through with your plan. Everything will eventually turn out okay, though not how you currently expect.

♌Leo (July 23 through August 22)

Great job breaking old habits this summer! Now the challenge is to keep your dorm room clean and to make your bed even on the mornings when you’re running late. Small changes in your daily life will lead to more influential and powerful changes in your life in the coming weeks. Going to the gym, even one day a week, will genuinely change your mindset when you’re having a difficult day.

♍Virgo (August 23 through September 22)

The end of your season leaves you feeling a little exhausted, even while you’re looking forward to hanging out with your friends. It is alright to take a moment for yourself. FOMO is real, but prioritizing mental health to rejuvenate yourself for the next month is also very real. There will be another Thursday night outing in exactly a week, so feel free to stay in and watch a movie instead!

♎Libra (September 23 through October 22)

Welcome to the beginning of your season! You should wear that outfit in the back of your closet that you’ve been eyeing up for the right event! Be bolder than usual and wear some winged eyeliner to class just for the fun of it! It’s your season, and you should live it up. Enjoy!

♏Scorpio (October 23 through November 21)

The summer is finally over, and you’re back in the steady schedule of the school year. You’ve started to shake things up from how they were last year, just to see if something different is better than what you have. Take caution in upsetting the balance of your life; sometimes, different isn’t always better.

♐Sagittarius (November 22 through December 21)

Since summer temperatures reached 80 degrees, you’ve been looking forward to sweater weather. Now it’s time to put summer in the rearview mirror and take on autumn! Perhaps you joined an E-Board last spring, and it’s finally time to take on extra responsibility in that club that you love. Have a great October because great things await you this month.

♑Capricorn (December 22 through January 19)

You tend to overextend yourself, especially in the first couple of weeks of school. Your summer was productive; you want to carry that productivity into the school year. Take a moment and reconnect with your current and older friends. It’s okay to drop a couple of activities that do not serve to lift you in life and burden you during the semester. You got this!

♒Aquarius (January 20 through February 18)

You may have had some nerves coming into this school year, whether it be your first or final year here at Boston College. Make sure to savor the little moments while also stepping back and reflecting on the experiences that brought you here. Perhaps you should start a journal to track some emotions linked to your nerves as a way to stay grounded.

♓Pisces (February 19 through March 20)

You’ve had a peaceful summer and a rocky start to the school year because of some old drama that may have resurfaced at home. Make sure to communicate well with your family and friends to prevent miscommunication. It is all right to disturb the peace to ensure that foundational relationships are strong and healthy.
