Staff Writers

Features:

Features is a section that highlights unique perspectives and voices through personal interviews, narratives, and investigations. In Features, you can write about anything: Love Island, current events, and even BC Dining are all fair game to investigate. Pieces tend to be a bit longer than News so Features can tell a story that's generally is more in depth.

Opinions:

The Opinions section gives a unique perspective on events/moments on campus and in the surrounding area. This section is a way to express thoughts and opinions through a liberal lens in a serious light or with a humorous twist in a diatribe.

Culture:

In the culture section, writers focus on two main subject areas within their articles. They primarily consider the arts and entertainment, which includes events both at Boston College and in the world in general. There is a lot of creative freedom in this regard, as writers can highlight any form of media that interests them, such as music, film, dance, etc. (the possibilities are endless!). The culture section also centers on politics and activism that occur both on and off campus. Writers will often find a way to combine pop culture with politics, providing a unique perspective on these social issues.

Sports:

As a member of the sports section, you will have the opportunity to cover your favorite sports both at BC and in the greater Boston area. In addition, we focus on national and international sports coverage that does not receive the attention it deserves.

News:

The News section covers breaking, developing, and long-term stories from around BC's campus and the Boston area. Writers typically attend on- and off-campus events and objectively report in a short, succinct manner. The section aspires to cover events, protests, and people from undercover and under-appreciated corners of the community.
